Model #6 United States Capitol Building

THE UNITED STATES CAPITOL BUILDING

This is my model of the United States Capitol Building,
The US Capitol Building is the meeting place for the United States Congress, which is the legislature of the US federal government. This buildng is located in Washington D.C., and top of the Capitol Hill, it is also one of the most recognizable buildings by its unique style of neoclassic architecture.

THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

The Construction process of my piece of nanoblock creation took a total of about 3.5 hours, including time spent analysing details in pictures as well as 3D models. I first started by looking at some images as well as the 3D models in Google Earth of the building, I started by designing the base of the building (as seen below), as well as the spacing of the building on top of the base. I used light grey pieces for the base, dark grey for most parts of the steps and entrances, and white for the building itself. The neoclassic architecture is mostly composed of three main sections of the building, the building in the middle, and ones by the side. Columns are located around the main buildings, as well as around and atop of dome of the building.

FINAL TOUCHES TO THE BUILDING

I put the final touches of the building by adding slanted flag poles for the flags, as you can see the flags I have designed as a representation of the Untied States flag, is composed of blue (as for stars), and for the rest, a 1X1 white, and 2X1 red (for the red/white stripes). Another factor that was very important in the construction of this was the surroundings of the building, one side of the building, there is a drop off point for cars (entrance), with a visitor's center, as well as the other side was a small park with trees surrounding sidewalks. You can see the two blue strips (representation of glass) on the drop off side entrance, while on the other side in the park you can see the fountain next to the staircase.
